More than 125 East Multnomah County families received care packages to keep them going through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Community Supply Distribution Drive was hosted by the Prevention and Community Public Health Department of Northwest Family Services Friday, Oct. 16. The care packages included household supplies; school supplies; grocery store gift cards; books; bus passes and food boxes. Staff, volunteers and participants wore masks and maintained social distancing in both the drive-through and walk-through distribution lines.
The care package items were partly funded by a $5,000 grant from the Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative (RALI) of Oregon, which is a coalition working collaboratively to address opioid addiction and misuse across the state.
