Shangri-La Joins RALI Oregon




Shangri-La has joined the Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative (RALI) of Oregon, a diverse coalition of Oregon organizations that has come together to identify solutions to help end opioid addiction and misuse across the state. The organization will help broaden RALI’s reach into Oregon communities and continue to spread best practices for safe drug disposal methods.


Shangri-La is an organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities and families with disadvantages reach their full potential through daily living, employment and enrichment programs. Their ultimate vision is a community that accepts all people for their abilities and celebrates their achievements.


“Shangri-La has served our community for over 55 years. We employ nearly 500 people and serve over 2,000 individuals each year throughout the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon coast. As such, it is important to us that we not only care for the work of our mission, but that we care for the overall health of our community. In partnership with RALI Oregon, we look forward to sharing safe disposal practices with our employees, the individuals we serve, and our community so we can be a part of the solution to combat the opi­­oid epidemic,” said Ashley Erb, Shangri-La’s Director of Community Engagement.


The organization joins nearly two dozen local, state, and national organizations committed to finding solutions to end the opioid crisis in Oregon. Members of the coalition include:

Shangri-La se ha unido a la Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative (RALI) de Oregón, una coalición diversa de organizaciones de Oregón que se ha reunido para identificar soluciones con el objetivo de ayudar a ponerle fin a la adicción y el uso indebido de opioides en todo el estado. La organización ayudará a expandir el alcance de RALI en las comunidades de Oregón y continuar difundiendo las mejores prácticas relacionadas con métodos seguros de eliminación de medicamentos.


Shangri-La es una organización que se dedica a ayudar a personas con discapacidades y familias con carencias a alcanzar su máximo potencial mediante programas para la vida diaria, empleo y enriquecimiento. Su visión final es una comunidad que acepte a todas las personas por sus discapacidades y que celebre sus logros.


“Shangri-La ha servido a nuestra comunidad por más de 55 años. Empleamos a cerca de 500 trabajadores y servimos a más de 2,000 personas cada año en Mid-Willamette Valley y la costa central de Oregón.
